The Shift Supervisor controls that alumina-based chemical products are manufactured by following company procedures, using Almatis Business System principals and observing all ISO and EHS guidelines. This position is responsible for directing and coaching the operations workforce including managing and delegating tasks to ensure the production organization meets quantity, quality, and cost goals while simultaneously protecting the environment and working in a safe and effective manner.

Production Process & Excellence
Supervises production activities on an assigned shift to ensure manufactured products meet or exceed all established quality requirements timelines and cost standards, including product integrity and production order documentation.
Drive shop-floor production excellence to ensure the highest possible quality level that is required to maintain our customer base.
Ensures complete and timely shift reporting to successfully hand over responsibilities to the incoming peer supervisor (shift change).
EHS & Risk Management
Ensure compliance with established safety rules and regulations to minimize injuries and meet regulatory requirements within the assigned shift.
Control potential threats during the shift, is proactive and ensures a stable and reliable shift
Leadership
Take care of an open and effective communication and create a process-oriented environment of sharing best practices and continuous improvement, which is the Almatis style of (Lean) Management.
Deploy relevant decisions to all levels of the organization.
Be a role model in exhibiting the company values, especially demonstrate trust and respect by listening to and involving, enabling and empowering people.
Go to “gemba” and support and coach people, establish and maintain team work, resulting in highly motivated people, engaged in effective and efficient performing teams.
