COMBINATION PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT - HUMAN FACTORS INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW

Envision spending your summer working with energetic colleagues and inspirational leaders, all while gaining world-class experience in one of the most dynamic organizations in the pharmaceutical industry. This is a reality for AbbVie’s Experiential Interns.

The internship will focus on streamlining AbbVie’s current practice for establishing user interface specifications and other key human factors deliverables, including how these deliverables feed into other product development deliverables. The intern will have the opportunity to conduct background research to identify industry best practices, design an evaluation process to determine how to best implement user interface specifications at AbbVie (e.g., a plan for conducting stakeholder interviews, gap analyses, etc.), and present the outcome of their research in a manner that provides recommendations for process improvement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Conduct research with limited supervisor guidance

  • Utilize existing knowledge of research methods to design and execute user research

  • Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues to gain inputs during the user research
  • Develop research-based recommendations for improving AbbVie’s practices to develop and implement various human factors deliverables
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently enrolled in university, pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Human Factors, Cognitive Science, Biomedical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field

  • Must be enrolled in university during the internship period
