    About the Role

    As the Payroll Officer, you will report to the Assistant Business Manager and will sit in the Finance Team. You will be responsible for the completion of fortnightly payroll for 180 staff, both for the College and Early Learning Centre. 

    Duties

  • Accurate and timely completion of end-to-end fortnightly payroll 

  • Liaise with staff and management regarding payroll related queries

  • Ensuring data integrity against policies, EBA’s and legislation

  • Maintenance of leave records, including sick leave, annual leave, and long service leave

  • Calculate and process back-pay, annual leave loading, salary sacrifice and termination payments

  • Identifying and resolving discrepancies in timesheet and payroll records

  • Payroll reporting and administration duties

  • Debtor support duties

  • Skills and Experience

  • Experience in an end-to-end payroll processing role is essential

  • Experience using Preceda (NGA), Xero and/or Synergetic highly regarded

  • High attention to detail and commitment to meeting deadlines

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • A proactive approach and a positive “can-do” attitude

  • Availability to work Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday for payroll processing

  • Current or willing to apply for a Working with Children clearance and Responding to Abuse and Neglect certificate
