Description: Swimming Pool Assistant Manager

LOCATION: Marge E Hudak Pool

Employment:

The Swimming Pool Assistant Manager is an "overtime exempt", "at-will" position.

Work schedule to be determined by the Swimming Pool Manager.

Primary Function:

Assist the Pool Manager in assuring the safe and efficient operation of the Marge E. Hudak Pool, activating the District's commitment to service to the entire community, and in the implementation and activation of School District curriculum/programs for teaching students to swim and for utilizing the pool for student wellness initiatives.

Salary Schedule

$18.75 Per Hour as per the current Board approved Classified Salary Schedule.

Initial placement on the salary scale is determined by credit for up to three years previous experience as a Pool Assistant Manager or Pool Manager.

Pool Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Certifications in Professional CPR, First Aid and Lifeguard Training, and CPO (Certified Pool Operator)
* Experience with pool operations as an assistant manager or manager.
* Demonstrated effective management skills-planning, scheduling, staff supervision and evaluation.
* Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Demonstrated effective public relations skills - relate well to children, youth, and the general public.
* Capability to respond to flexible time demands including evening and/or weekend work.
* Demonstrated ability to perform job duties and responsibilities with minimum supervision.

"Clear" background checks through submission of fingerprint card to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, FBI and Sterling Background Services.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

* Assist the Pool Manager in assuring the safe and efficient operation of the pool including compliance with all state statutes and health department regulations.

2. Adhere to School District Policies as an employee and as an assistant manager.

* Assist the Pool Manager in recommending fees for use of the pool including user fees, instructional fees, and facility use fees.

4. Maintain a record of pool use.

* Assist the Pool Manager in maintaining an inventory of pool equipment including item, vendor, purchase date, and cost.

6. In the absence of the pool manager, supervise custodial employees and ensure there are adequate custodial and maintenance services to provide clean, well functioning equipment and facilities, and maintain a pool environment that is clean, pleasant and focuses on service to customers.

* Assist Pool Manager in the ordering of supplies necessary for pool operations.

8. In the absence of the Pool Manager, ensure that the pool is staffed by properly trained and certified employees and supervise the lifeguard staff.

* Ensure that the staff is aware of their defined duties and responsibilities and ensure they are focused on customer service.

10. Ensure that the rules of conduct for staff and pool users are in place and followed by both the staff and pool users.

* Direct day-to-day activities of the pool and pool staff in the absence of the Pool Manager.

12. Assist the Pool Manager in organizing and administering a series of regularly scheduled, ongoing activities for use of the swimming pool by community members.

* Conduct self in a positive, professional manner at all times.

14. Attend Advisory Committee meetings and consider advice/suggestions from the Committee along with and/or in the absence of the Pool Manager.

* Assist the Pool Manager in evaluating the "effectiveness" (e.g. level of participation, cost-effectiveness) of pool activities and programs with assistance of the Swimming Pool Advisory Committee.

16. Assist the Pool Manager in gathering the necessary information to provide the Superintendent with an annual year-end report summarizing pool use data, effectiveness of programs, revenues and expenditures.
