Veterinary Specialists and Emergency Services is hiring an evening and overnight Shift Supervisor to join their team!

Compensation: from $18/hour based on experience level

Overview:

The Veterinary Shift Supervisor is a leader and an integral member of the veterinary hospital management team. The Supervisor works to oversee that the day-to-day workflow is performed at its best, under the supervision of the hospital Department Manager. A full-time position would require working between 30-40 hours a week, which include a combination of evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts.

Job Duties:

* Creates effective working relationships with hospital leadership to ensure standards of care are understood, effectively communicated, and delivered upon.
* Identifies conflicts in the workplace and seeks assistance in resolution in order to create effective working relationships
* Coaches staff to create a culture of strong performance and high productivity
* Understands the policies and procedures
* Clearly communicates with team members to ensure consistent understanding of new idea, changes in protocol, policies, and impending changes
* Documents performance-related issues, assesses team members during annual review, and provides hospital leadership with recommendations related to performance management and discipline
* Works with customers and resolves any issues or concerns
* Assist with administrative tasks such as payroll, trainings, onboarding
* Maintains equipment

Requirements:

* 2+ years of leadership/management experience
* Experience in vet med and/or medical field preferred
* Licensed Veterinary Technician preferred
* Excellent interpersonal communication skills
* Strong organizational and planning skills in a fast paced environment
* Availability to occasionally work uncommon hours, overtime, and on call for emergencies
* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, squatting, reaching, standing, and walking throughout the day.
