Some roles can work virtual full-time if they are not near a Tech Hub, but that is dependent upon the needs of the position and amount of collaboration required.

Job Summary

Comcast is growing our world-class .dx team! The role of the Privacy Steward is to partner with business and technical data system owners across the organization to help lead data as a product. This position will report directly to the Director of Data Management and Governance as part of a strategic plan to continue transforming Comcast into a data driven organization.

Job Description


+ 8+ years of relevant data-related experience

+ Exposure in any of the following a plus: My SQL, SQL Server, Oracle, Teradata, Hortonworks, Hadoop, Informatica, Tableau, AWS

+ Knowledge of the telecom industry a plus


+ Bachelor's degree required with related experience

Key Responsibilities

+ Build and maintain consumer friendly names, definitions and data guides for consumer requests

+ Assist with communications, governance process documentation, process flow diagrams, data guidelines, quality management principles

+ Carry out and support data usage and privacy policies as resolved through enterprise data governance initiatives, acting as a liaison between the technical and business system owners of the organization

+ Partner with both business and technical owners on 8000+ data systems to assess and tag metadata accordingly

+ Supervise all metadata tagged to resolve preferred records needed for data governance program

+ Coordinate with partners and legal to provide definitions for all data found

+ Working with Data Governance to ensure compliance of all data management policies

+ Partner and advise development team on build out of DX platforms and the data warehouse

+ Ability to analyze data to provide information to collaborators needed to resolve potential risk and offering regulatory mentorship

+ Share standard process trends in data use, and provide insight into how and where teams can use data to help in day-to-day decision-making

+ Work with key collaborators on standardization of data and processes for the enterprise

Knowledge and Skills

+ Ability to work optimally across a matrixed environment and influence without formal authority

+ Ability to lead change and encourage flexibility amongst various teams

+ Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills

+ Ability to query and manipulate data in varying file formats including Teradata, Hadoop and other databases

+ Knowledge of programming and the software development lifecycle (SDLC)

+ Analytical with strong problem-solving capability
