The role is expected to develop, maintain, manage and control a stable and competitive supply base on assigned commodities for LINAK U.S. manufacturing as well as work with and in support of the LINAK-Groups sourcing strategy. The Materials Manager will also work cross functionally with Existing Products, Supplier Quality, and R&D as needed on sourcing and continuous improvement projects.


Major Responsibilities:


  • Oversee all material purchasing activities.
  • Oversee all international and domestic freight activities.
  • Oversee Supplier relationships and support escalations.
  • Oversee tariff management.
  • Develop and manage the team in a way to improve competencies and to establish and maintain a motivating and open working environment, with high efficiency, quality, and morale.
  • Responsible for stock levels, turnover rates, safety stock, Supply Chain S,Q,D,C,P/M (daily business), KPI responsibility, C.I. responsibilities
  • Responsible for MRP buying functions
  • Identify process improvements to improve accuracy and performance
  • Establish and maintain systems and procedures across department lines to always ensure correct planning and capacity
  • Hire and train new employees. Manage existing employees, report to HR on absenteeism, make evaluations, etc.
  • Maintain and use existing systems and procedures. Evaluate, change and improve if necessary
  • Coordinate the implementation and assist in achieving cost reduction goals
  • Ensure supplier on-time delivery of purchased goods
  • Ensure Trade agreements and price adjustments are updated and accurate
  • Ensure ECN implementation is consistent and accurate throughout supply-chain
  • Additional duties as assigned by Management


Requirements:


  • Minimum of four years’ experience with materials management and leadership in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • International logistics experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field is required.
