Experts of operations, process and efficiency who enable a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is set, in-stock, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. The General Merchandise and Food Sales team leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, inventory accuracy, presentation, pricing and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise (GM) areas of the store. This team leads Food & Beverage and Food Service, providing a fresh and food safe experience. Experts enable efficient delivery to our guests by owning pick, pack and ship fulfillment work.

As an on-demand team member your schedule may vary depending on shift availability and store need. This position is ideal for a person that is looking for a flexible work schedule, that is great with communication, and can commit to a minimum of 20hrs/week during the holiday season (specifically in November and December).

Unlike a regular team member position, you have the flexibility to be scheduled for/pick up shifts that work best with your schedule! Examples of how you can be scheduled/pick up shifts are below:

Communicate with HR and your leaders ahead of time about your schedule/desired shifts
Utilize our myTime Mobile App to pick up shifts at your convenience (even on the same day!)

In times of need, HR/leaders will call you for shift coverage

If we do not receive a response to our communication attempts, your employment with Target will be administratively terminated. You must work at least one shift within 6 weeks in the off season (and a minimum 20 hrs/week during the holiday season) or you will be administratively terminated.

Knowledge of guest service fundamentals and experience supporting a guest first culture across the store
Experience in retail business fundamentals including: department sales trends, inventory management, and process efficiency and improvement
Experience executing daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and deliver on sales goals

As a General Merchandise Expert, no two   days are ever the same, but a typical day will most likely include the following responsibilities:
Create a welcoming experience by authentically greeting all guests
Observe to quickly understand whether a guest needs assistance or wants to interact. Follow body language and verbal clues to tailor your approach
Engage with guests in a genuine way, which include asking questions to better understand their specific needs
Be knowledgeable about the tools, products, and services available in the total store, and specific to your area, to solve issues for the guest and improve their experience
Thank the guest in a genuine way and let them know we’re happy they chose to shop at Target
Be an expert and dedicated owner of select GM areas to ensure sales floor is zoned, in stock and accurately signed for guests
Acknowledge guests as you complete workload with minimal guest disruption; review sales trends to understand how to prioritize daily workload based on business and guest needs
Ensure regular and promotional signing is set accurately for GM categories and be knowledgeable of products in the ad
Execute revisions, sales plans and planograms for all GM categories
Assist all non-GM areas of the store with transition sets and In Store Marketing (ISM)
Conduct weekly price change workload for all GM categories
Complete Radio Frequency ID (RFID) scans in GM areas and system audit functions to ensure inventory accuracy
Accurately execute all backroom fills, including guest requests, and backstock product from GM categories efficiently and timely
Own backroom aisles, including backstock, for your GM areas
Process all inbound deliveries using the Receive application to ensure inventory accuracy
Complete all backroom daily audits
Operate power equipment only if certified
Maintain backroom and fixture room organization, location accuracy and follow equipment guidelines
Follow processes accurately with attention to detail, monitor own progress and accurately prioritize tasks
Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance
Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pick up (OPU) and Drive up (DU) and maintain a compliance culture while executing those duties, such as federal, state, and local adult beverage laws
All other duties based on business needs

Accurately handle cash register operations
Climb up and down ladders
Scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 40 pounds
Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends and holidays) and regular attendance necessary
You can work as much or as little as you like as an on-demand TM, however, we ask for your active engagement by picking up and working shifts (via our myTime mobile App) as well as responding at our attempts at contact. We will contact you throughout the year (via your provided contact information) and confirm your ability and interest in working shifts at Target. If we do not receive a response your employment with Target will be administratively terminated. You must work at least one shift within 6 months or you will be administratively terminated.
