The opportunity:

Leveraging your water, flooding, local infrastructure project and leadership experience, this is your opportunity to take ownership of a newly created position; Water and Flooding Manager - QLD.

Play an instrumental role in the growth trajectory for the water division with our client, a very successful, multidisciplinary consultancy. Supported by a highly experienced technical team and proactive leadership group, our client has a solid pipeline of major infrastructure projects Nationally for someone to leverage and expand the water discipline and team in Queensland.

Responsibilities:

Develop a strategic plan for the QLD water discipline and local region
Leading packages for Major Road, Rail and Metro Infrastructure Projects including flooding and water input into detailed design, communicating with clients and stakeholders
Maintain and develop internal and external relationships
Building a local team of water and flooding engineers and reviewing their work, initially this role will have x2 direct reports
Technical delivery of disaster recovery projects, Flood Studies, Risk Management Plans, Evacuation Management and Impact Assessments
Independent Verification

The 'Ideal' person will have:

Substantial experience leading flooding and water (particularly flood surface water) projects and teams in Queensland
An advanced understanding of hydrologic and hydraulic modelling packages including RORB and TUFLOW
Effective communication skills and commercial acumen
Experience and/ or existing relationships within the relevant state authorities in your region such as TMR
Chartered Engineer/Registered Professional Engineer (RPEQ) or equivalent (ideally Water/Civil however Environmental & Hydrologists with major project experience also considered)
A developed technical understanding of the principles and approaches of ARR2019 and of relevant local and state flooding legislation and policy and approval pathways
Experienced in cross-drainage design principals, flood mitigation and management for major infrastructure projects
Previous experience working for a tier one consultancy is advantageous
