Test Manager (fixed term -12 months)
The Office of Public Prosecutions (OPP) has an exciting opportunity for an experienced test analyst to join our Corporate Services team as a Test Manager.
As part of its progressive Digital Transformation Program, the OPP is developing a new case and document management solution on the Appian platform to improve how we work. As a Test Manager, you will lead quality assurance, including test planning and execution.
You will be integral in testing systems under development, providing expert process improvement advice to reduce development defects and providing assurance that risks associated with implementing new systems are accurately quantified and addressed.
Key accountabilities:
* Design test strategy covering all disciplines of testing, including functional, system integration, automation, performance, UAT and end-to-end testing
* Understand stakeholder issues and draft test scripts
* Lead the design and implementation of technical and non-technical tests
* Manage the provision of high-level testing services
* Influencing and gaining agreement of scope from stakeholders
* Provide general supervision and guidance for all testing tasks and for all resources involved
* Contribute to consultation with key stakeholders through analysis and test automation development services
* Manage software defects and the process of defect reporting and resolution
* Coordinate governance for audit traceability and produce metrics-based reports
* Coach and mentor colleagues to support continuous improvement and innovation
Our ideal candidate:
* Experience in the end-to-end testing of computer systems and testing methodologies within an Agile environment (including manual testing processes and automated test frameworks)
* Experience within user-centred design and Agile development
* Knowledge of testing governance frameworks, tools and processes
* Knowledge of testing software and solutions (e.g. FitNesse, Lotus, Selenium, Python)
* Ability to work independently, without supervision as well as part of a team
* High level of organisational skills and attention to detail
* Outstanding planning and problem-solving skills and ability to adjust to changing business needs where there is no definitive precedent
* Excellent leadership skills and ability to build productive relationships with a variety of stakeholders
* Experience with SQL databases and low-code platforms (desirable)
* ISTQB certification (desirable)
