The purpose of this role is to maintain, develop and win new business for Optus. The Account Manager will be responsible to sell into a territory of larger businesses with telecommunications spend up to $2 Million plus per annum, developing high level customer relationships. This position requires the skills and experience to deal with Senior Executives in some of the largest companies.

The role will suit individuals with deep experience in sales with a proven track record of success in leveraging a mix of panel contracts, vendor partnerships, bespoke customer solutions and industry insights for ICT solutions sales.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and executing a strategic plan to grow the Optus market share within a defined subset of existing and new customers within the public sector.
  • Establish and manage relationships with Senior Executives in some of Victoria’s largest government agencies to protect existing business as well as identify opportunities for growth.
  • Responsible for sales and delivery of sophisticated product and service solutions.
  • Developing sound customer relationships, covering all relevant contacts within the customer account and coordinating the input of other Optus partners responsible for supporting the customer
  • Provide clear and positive communication to all relevant Optus people to ensure that the customer’s needs are met. Maintain positive relationships.
  • About You

    You are an experienced sales professional who can bring a consultative style to selling technical products and sophisticated business solutions. Ideally you will also bring:

  • Ability to negotiate complex sales at senior levels
  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Telecommunications or IT background is not crucial, but would be advantageous
  • Balancing internal and external demands on reporting, account management and sales
