Job Details

This corporate level position is responsible for the implementation of all environmental programs and reports to the VP HSE. In this role, you'll be responsible for maintaining compliance with all environmental regulations in the Gulf of Mexico and Mobile Bay operations. Key environmental programs to be managed include air permit compliance and reporting, greenhouse gas reporting, BOEM air emission reporting, NPDES (onshore, state waters and federal waters), CERCLA/SARA reporting and waste management. You'll also assist in the development and delivery of environmental training for employees and contractors. The successful candidate will work well in an environment where they can influence employees to improve processes and performance without having direct authority.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Follow all recordkeeping and reporting requirements of various permits including Title V and NPDES

Maintain compliance with regulations including SPCC, RCRA, SARA, RMP/PSM and others as applicable, including corresponding State regulations

Communicate with plant operations personnel, HSE&R Coordinator, VP HSE&R and others on a regular basis to promote the team working environment

Work with consultants as needed, to maintain regulatory compliance, including reviewing proposals, communicating scopes of work, keeping consultants on task, reviewing deliverables, reviewing invoices, maintaining project budgets

Communicate with regulatory agencies, as applicable, to maintain good relationships between the agencies and W&T

Revise procedures, manuals, plans, etc. as needed

Travel to Mobile field locations as needed for regulatory inspections, etc.

Update and maintain all environmental data and any recordkeeping

KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Management, Science, Engineering or equivalent

Absolute minimum of 5 years’ experience actively managing Title V permits

Experience with NPDES compliance in US Federal Waters is highly desirable

Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish excellent working relationships

Familiarity with H2S environment and associated risks to perform adequate analysis and ensuring compliance

Knowledge of EPA and all other state and local regulations

Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Certification is considered desirable
