A globally recognised FMCG company require a Manufacturing Team Leader to join their expanding team
Job Overview: Production Team Leader
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the post holder will be responsible for co-ordinating and controlling the activities of the shift, ensuring compliance with Quality, Health and Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) are always adhered to.
As the Team Leader of the Manufacturing team, this will be a hands-on role. The post holder will be required to work within clearly defined processes and procedures and will be empowered to make routine decisions affecting the Manufacturing Department, referring major issues to the Manufacturing Manager for resolution.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: Production Team Leader

Responsible for the routine / day-to-day supervision and management of the Manufacturing Operatives on the relevant shift. This will include absence and performance management.
Be practically involved, as necessary, in the manufacture, adjustment and testing of bulk product.
Help organise and prioritise resources to ensure that the bulk manufacturing schedule is fully supported, referring any major issues to the Manufacturing Manager for resolution.
Manage the quality of bulk produced and the level of service to internal and external customers.
Provide a concise and efficient communication to internal and external customers.
Liaise closely with the Warehouse and QC lab to ensure availability and prioritise raw materials supplied into the department on a Just-In-Time (JIT) basis.
Ensure that new recruits to the department are given on-the-job training, in compliance with Quality Procedures and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). (This should be validated and recorded on personal training records).
Ensure that Quality Procedures and SOPs are regularly reviewed and updated with the Manufacturing Manager.
Ensure that accountable equipment is regularly inspected, calibrated, maintained and repaired where appropriate.
Check finished batch documentation for errors/omissions and rectify any issues and maintain computerised records.
Ensure compliance with Health and Safety at Work, and maintain that SOPs are always adhered to.
Maintain high standards of GMP at all times in accountable areas.
Assist the Manufacturing Manager in determining training and development needs of the manufacturing team.
Cover Manufacturing Operatives and Team Leaders when required.
Carry out risk assessments within the department and follow up any changes required.
Investigate quality incidents to identify the root cause and identify/implement robust preventative and corrective actions.
Carry out any other reasonable duties at the request of the Manufacturing Manager
Be available for weekend and out of hours work if the business dictates

Skills: Production Team Leader

Be a reference point for best practice in Manufacturing Department operational activities.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Good interpersonal skills; ability to actively listen, support, encourage, motivate and direct staff.
Demonstrate effective leadership skills.
Accurate with good attention to detail.
Knowledge of Health and Safety at Work (HASAW) and GMP.
Ability to use computerised information systems to retrieve, update and input all relevant data. Candidates should be able to demonstrate that they are comfortable with computer systems. It is not considered relevant where that experience has been gained.
Training will be provided, however, it is anticipated that applicants will have a good knowledge of HASAW and GMP, statutes and legislation and more specifically, they can identify potential risks in the working environment, and conduct themselves in a safe working manner and ensure that the team do likewise
