About the Team
The Procurement and Corporate Services Branch support the Agency business areas by providing corporate, procurement and property services.
The Property Strategy and Capital Works Section is responsible for the delivery and maintenance of the Agency property strategy, the associated fit-out of sites and capital works.
About the Role

The APS5 Project Officer is accountable under limited supervision to undertake moderately complex to complex work. Legislation, policies, procedures, standards, methodologies and precedents guide the position.
The position will undertake activities and tasks using available information where options are not always evident. It will be required to perform procedural, clerical, administrative and operational tasks that supports and contributes to Agency objectives.
The APS5 Project Officer is a team membership position and is accountable for organising their work flow and making independent decisions relating to an area of responsibility. The position will be required to provide policy advice within an area of specialisation with advice based on policies and legislation.
The position will have a considerable level of contact with internal and external stakeholders and will be required to communicate with and provide advice on a range of matters to resolve moderately complex to complex enquiries.
Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
• Assisting in project management and coordination activities, monitoring and reviewing program and project activities against plans.
• Contributing to the development and management of project plans and schedules in accordance with the Agency’s project management framework.
• Providing advice, procedural guidance and technical expertise in specific areas of project work.
• Performing research work and analysis including contributing to the preparation of reports on relevant project activities.
• Contributing to regular project reporting including status updates and exception reports.
• Drafting a range of written material including business cases, plans, executive briefs and corporate documentation for review.
• Assisting with monitoring project budgets, review and report on expenditure and assist with procurement and contract management.
• Assisting with the identification and management of project risks, issues and benefits.
• Assisting with project quality management to ensure that project deliverables are fit for purpose and meet client needs.
• Collaborating with team members to achieve program, project and business outcomes.
Role Specifications
The role is required to be performed in a work environment that has the following core characteristics and requirements:
• Working in an open office environment (exposure to general workplace chatter)
• Working from home on occasion
• Working in a hot desk environment
• Significant periods of sitting at a counter or desk
• Operating a telephone
• Computer/screen-based work
• Ability to use computer/software applications including Microsoft Office and Agency business applications such as Agency client records management system (CRM)
• Assistance animals may be in the work area In addition to the above, the role requires:
• Performing high levels of phone usage and/or face to face work
The following essential checks/clearances are required to perform the role:
