Position Summary
Responsible for design and execution of our Engineered Power & HVAC systems theESM works with our Sales and Product Engineering teams developing products andbespoke solutions to meet specific customer requirements. At times customer facing,the ESM coordinates customer, sales and prioritizes engineering resources to meetproject and product cycle deadlines.
A senior member of the Power & HVAC Management team, the ESM provides input intostrategic direction, particularly in the aspect of Markets, directs Business Development pMangers to uncover opportunity, gather market intelligence and allocates specialistProduct Engineering resources to maximise efficiency.
As the lead of our Product Engineering team, the ESM coordinates feedback from theCustomer and funnels it into our engineering stream. This enables the continuousdevelopment of product offerings that are financially effective, profitable, utilised andtargeted to Coates strategic vision of being Safe, Smart and Sustainable. Ongoingattention to utilisation, correct allocation of assets and servicing requirements also fallunder the ESM’s oversight as core aspects of Product Engineering’s categorymanagement function.
Operationally, the ESM will maintain oversight of our most sensitive and criticalprojects to ensure smooth implementation, operation, customer satisfaction andcommercial performance. This is a highly technical and pivotal role that requires theflexibility to work between specialised functions in Engineering, Sales and Operationsand deliver strategic outcomes to the business.
Key Accountabilities
• Demonstrate uncompromising Safety-First culture throughout the organisation andcustomer relationships;
• Assess market opportunity and develop strategic plans to deliver product to businessand sustainable Power & HVAC turnkey solutions to customer.
• Manage and direct high-level sales team of specialist Business DevelopmentManagers to achieve strategic objectives
• Onboard internal and external stakeholders to roll out Sales plans and/or promotenew products/services to the business/market
• Manage Product Engineering team, continuously reviewing and prioritising resourcesto meet project and seasonal product cycle deadlines.
• Direct Engineering resources to allow for the timely support of Product Specialistsacross the business using internal and external resources.
• Continuously develop products and services, maintain oversight on Category metrics;time utilisation, financial utilisation, repairs and maintenance, down to return on capitaland direct any corrective measures
• Lead product investment requests to ensure they meet the strategic and financialrequirements of the business; Support Category Managers and Procurement withexpert knowledge from the Product Engineering team.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders in Sales and Operational channels to providebest in class service from Power & HVAC internally and to customer
• Ensure that all engineering documentation and process are of the highest standard toallow for responsive, efficient and effective wet hire business operation
• Carry out engineering and commercial review of high value contracts to ensurepositive and sustainable financial outcomes, liaise with legal team to minimise any exposure to Coates.
• Collate and use market intelligence to lead product development, assess customerattitudes and market trends to identify opportunities for commercial leverage
• Strategically review and assess key competitor product and activity, as well asundertaking local and global industry benchmarking.
• Build strong relationships with external stakeholders such as senior business leadersof key suppliers
• Comply with all company policies and procedures.
• Undertake any additional duties that are within your skill set and safe.
Salary : $168K + Super
