The Finance and Investment Division (FID) is a trusted advisor to the Transport cluster, and partners with our stakeholders to make all financial and funding considerations for our once-in-a-generation $72 billion infrastructure program.
We provide best in class financial services to support decision-making on transport services, infrastructure investment and delivery. FID plays a critical role in project planning and funding, enterprise planning and financial management and control.

The opportunity
We currently have an opportunity for an exceptional Finance Manager in FID. This role is a newly created role in the new Cities and Active Transport Division where you will provide a broad range of financial management services to meet internal and external reporting and analysis requirements, and compliance with statutory obligations.
This is an 18 month Fixed Term role.
You will deliver financial planning, forecasting and budgeting processes and initiatives to support strategic decision making. You will be consulted as a high-level advisor on issues relating to financial management, providing careful, accurate and well-structured advice.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis, the role will be required to provide financial leadership to a diverse range of stakeholders in a complex matrix environment between Department of Planning & Environment and Transport for NSW.
As this is a newly created role we are looking for a self starter who is currently working in a Finance manager role at Transport for NSW.
You will work closely and collaboratively with the Finance Business Partners, and stakeholders in the business, to achieve outcomes for the people of NSW as well a being part of a fantastic opportunity to set up a new division.

Drawing on your extensive experience in a large, complex, matrix organisation, as well as your relevant qualifications in accounting or commerce, you will communicate confidently and effectively, establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders and your team members. In particular, an ability to plan, prioritise and manage multiple reporting deadlines will be key to your success. 
You will contribute to the quality financial management of the division you support, and the success of the finance business partnering function, by:
Assist in setting up a new division
leading finance project teams
driving business improvement projects, and
supporting the identification and implementation of financial sustainability initiatives.

About you
You are currently performing a similar role as a Finance Manager within the Transport cluster
You are tertiary qualified (Finance, Accounting, Commerce or related discipline) with minimum 5 years relevant industry experience, and full membership of a recognised professional accounting body (CPA/CA ANZ or equivalent).
Your proven expertise in financial management will include demonstrable achievement at a high level in management accounting (budgeting, forecasting, planning and reporting) in a large complex organisation.
Experience and good working knowledge of systems and process at transport for NSW
You will have demonstrated experience in working collaboratively with business stakeholders as well as internal finance stakeholders in a dynamic matrix environment.
You are a critical thinker and a self starter
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is Grade 9A ($138,670) – 9E ($155,309) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
