The Corporate Governance branch provides expertise on a wide range of governance matters and supports Council through the development of frameworks, practices, and procedures. 
This position focuses on leading the delivery of governance awareness, practices, and projects; to aid with the development of policies and processes which reflect Council’s vision and to lead the team to achieve goals, projects, and service delivery outcomes.
Key Duties:
Lead the preparation, review and development of Council’s local laws, 
Undertake research activities, briefings, submissions and policy development across the organisation.
Develop and prepare all delegations of authority and instruments of appointment in accordance with legislative and Council requirements. 
Provide advice on governance related matters to drive the development, implementation and ongoing monitoring of effective governance policies, processes, and strategies.
Develop and deliver awareness sessions on a range of governance matters
About you
You possess a Bachelor Degree in Business Management, Law or related discipline and or extensive experience within Corporate Governance in a large organisation. 
You have extensive knowledge and experience working with the relevant legislation, policies, procedures and standards relevant to Corporate Governance.
You will be self motivated and independent with the ability to manage and influence team priorities. 
You will have proven ability in undertaking complex research tasks, project management, strategy development and human resource management. 
You demonstrate exceptional staff management and mentoring skills.
