The role is responsible for managing all aspects of the Small Commercial Financial Lines (mainly Management Liability, Professional Indemnity and Cyber) underwriting team and motivating the team to achieve high quality service levels enabling achievement financial objectives.


Help design and execute a sales and service process that delivers a high-quality experience for brokers at every interaction.

Coach, mentor and provide feedback to staff on delivering high-quality service levels.

Achieve the financial targets of the team including the GWP production, retention, rate and loss ratio targets.

Carry out all aspects of performance management including goal setting, performance reviews and compensation reviews.

Manage and design workflow and team capacity.

Manage underwriter performance, development and adherence to underwriting authorities.

Assist Product Manager/s by providing input on underwriting results, profit analysis, market and environment and competitor analysis


Previous Financial Lines underwriting and/or portfolio management experience.

Demonstrated experience in staff management and building high performing teams.

Strong coaching and people development skills.

Proven experience in delivering high quality sales and service standards.

Profile in the broker market with proven success in developing key broker relationships and achievement of GWP growth.

Has demonstrated ability to work well with people and influence decisions.
