Taxation Advisory Officer
Temporary full-time and part-time opportunities for 12 months
Parramatta location with flexible and hybrid working options available.
Clerk Grade Level 3/4. Base salary $75,992 p.a. to $83,211 p.a. plus superannuation and annual leave loading.

The Legal and Professional Services division provides expert legal, taxation, financial planning, and genealogy services to customers across the entire agency
About the role
The Taxation Advisory Officer provides support to deliver high quality, timely and customer focused advice and service to clients. This is an exciting opportunity that will see you:
Provide taxation advice to clients and staff of NSWTG in a concise manner
Prepare complex taxation returns relating to NSWTG's trustee and financial management services
Work closely with Advisory Officers to ensure advice is appropriately implemented
Communicate with the Australian Taxation Office to resolve delays and issues
Contribute to continuous improvement and identifying process gaps and risks

About you
In addition to the essential requirements, the successful candidate will ideally have:
Tertiary qualifications in accounting or taxation
Extensive experience in preparing taxation returns for deceased estates, trusts and individuals
A broad knowledge of taxation law provisions relating to individuals, deceased estates, testamentary trusts and other trusts
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to express complex taxation concepts in an easy-to-understand manner
The ability to work collaboratively with other divisions within NSWTG to deliver customer service excellence

Essential requirements
Tertiary qualifications in Taxation or equivalent experience (Taxation roles).
Tertiary qualifications in Financial Planning (Financial Planning roles).
All roles in NSWTG require a willingness to have phone calls monitored for quality and training purposes.
Up to date COVID-19 vaccination status and able to provide acceptable proof
