FoodByUs is Australia's #1 online wholesale food marketplace connecting hundreds of suppliers to restaurants, cafes, caterers, hotels, bars and other foodservice businesses. We’re a one-stop shop that allows any hospitality business to order all the wholesale supplies they need from dry goods to alcohol to packaging. Our founders built and sold Menulog, and we’re looking to make FoodByUs just as successful.
Reporting to the Territory Sales Manager, this role is an exciting blend of sales and account management, you will have the possibility to maintain and develop an area . If you really love people, really love food, and really love to close deals then we would love to talk to you.
What are we looking for?
A successful Business Development Manager at is capable of:
Self-sourcing new business leads through multiple ways including cold calling, networking, referrals etc.
Meeting clients face to face to pitch/close new business for FoodByUs, building long lasting relationships with customers to fully manage them through their FoodByUs ordering experience
Being highly autonomous and able to be self-sufficient when it comes to their time and diary
Consulting business owners at all levels from various walks of life and adapt style accordingly
2+ years’ experience selling within a B2B, face-to-face selling role predominantly searching for new business prospects with an element of client account management
A hunger to drive, deliver and over-achieve on new business, upsell & retention sales targets
Excellent communication, relationship building and interpersonal skills
You think strategically: This role will require you to understand our customer’s whole business needs and sell accordingly
You keep yourself accountable: We're a growing team in a dynamic start-up, so you'll need to fully own your tasks while we support your learning curve
You are organised: You'll be managing a large community of buyers linking into many suppliers. You need to enjoy keeping track of all your tasks and tick them off your list
A good understanding of the hospitality sector is not essential however advantageous. Whether you have come from selling within industry, been a chef, worked in hospitality or just passionate about the industry itself!
