With the ongoing need to support the evolving approach to managing enterprise, strategic and operational risks, Energy Queensland is actively seeking to appoint an experienced Enterprise Risk Specialist who will be responsible for supporting the group in the development, implementation and improvement of Energy Queensland's risk framework, risk program and risk reporting.
About the opportunity
A visible operator in the business, the Enterprise Risk Specialist will be analytical - a conceptual thinker, an influencer, and will drive a strong risk focus within Energy Queensland's overall culture to strengthen their approach to managing risk. You will enhance the enterprise risk system, ensuring the effectiveness of the risk control framework and escalate matters to the Leadership Team and Board as required, as well as preparing and presenting strategic plans, briefings and reporting on risk management activities and initiatives from the bottom up and the top down.
You will partner with all parts of the organisation and identify solution orientated outcomes to support the achievement of business objectives while managing the appropriate levels of risk. In addition to the responsibilities below you will have the opportunity to work in an innovative and exciting industry and organisational programs of work including mitigating risks associated with climate change, renewable energy projects and operationalising the risk framework.
· Support the development and improvement of digital platforms as part of the risk framework including system governance, system reviews
· Facilitate and undertake risk assessments, develop risk profiles with appropriate mitigation strategies
· Proactively engage on risk management processes and concepts to reach the future state
· Influence change across a broad stakeholder group
· Deliver training and awareness initiatives to promote a risk-aware culture
The successful applicant will bring strong influencing and commercial skills demonstrated previously in a large and complex organisation. This role will enable you to mobilise and model change and innovation across an organisation and will suit a consultative risk professional who enjoys solving problems in a collaborative manner and thrives in a fast-paced environment. You will be comfortable dealing with all levels within an organisation and be able to demonstrate your previous experience in the identification of operational risks, whilst proactively engaging about risk management concepts and processes to enhance corporate decision making. Degree qualifications in Governance, Commerce, Law, or Risk Management is essential along with a detailed knowledge and practical application of global best-practice risk related policies, frameworks and procedures.
