The Role
The COORD OFFR provides high level support to their supervisor, APS 6 Coordination Manager (COORD MGR), to facilitate the management of the Headquarters facilities, and assist in unit procurement and the coordination of events. The COORD OFFR has no supervisory responsibilities.
The primary duties of the COORD OFFR:
Facilities Management. Responsible for the management of the Headquarters Building and the Randwick Barracks auditorium. Ensures the facilities and supporting infrastructure, such as DSN and Operational Planning Rooms, are always maintained to support Headquarters and Joint Task Force 629 (JTF 629) operations.
Alternate Unit Procurement Officer. Maintains a Defence Purchasing Card and supports the COORD MGR as an alternate for all unit-level procurement.
Support to Conferences and important unit activities. Provides support to the COORD MGR for Command Conferences and Headquarters-level activities, such as JTF 629 Mounting, and includes the coordination of venue bookings, rations, and transport.
About Our Team
The organisation maintains the command and control of both the Army’s 2nd Division and Joint Task Force 629 (JTF 629). The 2nd Division is one of the ADF’s largest functional commands and is responsible for leading domestic operations.
The Coordination Cell (COORD Cell) sits within the Command Support Directorate which is responsible for the provision of direct staff support to the Commander 2nd Division, and compliance with governance across the Division, JTF 629, and the Headquarters.
The COORD Cell is an important function that encompasses the primary responsibilities that enable the Headquarters to operate effectively. The output of the cell includes facilities management and the functions of security and procurement.
The cell is focused on supporting the Commanding Officer and aiding the Command and staff of the Headquarters to meet its primary role in support of the Division and JTF 629 domestic operations
Our Ideal Candidate
Our ideal candidate must be able to operate with minimal supervision to ensure the Headquarters facilities are maintained with minimal impact on staff or operations.
Experience in similar roles is valued, but not essential.
Importantly, they must work and collaborate effectively with other staff and stakeholders to support their primary role, the conduct of conferences and events, and to achieve collective goals.
They should be motivated to continually improve their professional skills.
They should have Defence Secret Environment access and must have a security clearance of a minimum of NV1.
