OneFortyOne was formed in 2012 following the acquisition of a 105-year lease of 80,000 hectares of plantation assets from the South Australian Government named after the 141st meridian east line running between the South Australian and Victorian border. OneFortyOne are a major forest grower in the area and part of a thriving regional forestry and timber industry. Based in Mount Gambier, OneFortyOne is one of the largest private employers in the Green Triangle (GT), currently employing more than 400 people directly and approximately 1,000 people indirectly through their contractor workforce.
The forestry and timber industries have a powerfully positive product, and OneFortyOne works together with other industry organisations to share that story. Every day they grow, harvest, process and sell plantation fibre and the combined effect of these actions are carbon neutral and helps to address climate change.
OneFortyOne is looking for an industry-focused person to provide strategic and operational leadership to reshape safety, risk and wellbeing policies and initiatives across the business as the Manager, Health Safety and Risk. Reporting to the General Manager, GT Forests, this role is responsible for providing proactive leadership in vertically integrating risk awareness and risk management.
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate your strong relationship skills as a positive influence for employees and business partners across multiple levels and jurisdictions. Key elements of this role require experience in cultural change supporting physical, mental and emotional health, capturing and tracking of metric data and trends, incident investigation and participation in their fire protection program.
Experience working in high volume, manufacturing, mining, or industrial organisations in an WHS role would be well-regarded. Relevant tertiary qualifications in Health and Safety or equivalent certifications are essential together with a creative approach to passionately embrace and participate in wellbeing culture to deliver an all Home Safe and Well Together philosophy every day.
