JOB DESCRIPTION:


To assist keeping food and beverage cost and quality within the set Village and Life guidelines. To source quality and cost effective ingredients as per the head chef and kitchen managers orders. Maintain the cleanliness and order of all stores.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Grade 12 or equivalent
Financial Management Certificate/ diploma is advantageous
Previous experience in the same or similar position
Familiar with all duties and procedures in the Department
MS Office (Word, Excel and Email) is essential
Excellent Micros &/or ESP experience 
Stock take

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Source best prices and quality when ordering food & beverages on Chef’s recommendations
Use pre numbered orders for ordering
Record received goods on SOP log
Capture all invoices and credit notes
Check goods' expiry dates, quantities & temperatures of trucks
Assist suppliers may go through kitchen to cellar as long as they are accompanied
Issue goods received to the responsible person to sign for received items
Wash fruit and veg, flatten boxes, remove hessian bags
Capture issues on micros
Ensure that procedures are in place
Ensuring that the schedule is to be sent out by the 25th of each month
Update prices on continuous basis
Calculate recharges
Check revenues, voids, cash-ups
Provisional costs of sales by the 10th of each month
