Who are you?
We are seeking a Care Assistant who shares our passion for providing the best possible care for our residents and who can demonstrate professionalism and energy in the home.
We are looking for somebody who:
Supports our commitment to providing the best possible care for our residents and our ability to make them feel like family within a loving home. We need you to be like minded in this approach, valuing the small things which are important to each of our residents.
We'd love you to be NVQ/QCF 2 qualified in Health & Social Care, but that is not a deal breaker. Ideally you will have had some care experience but this is not essential as we provide lots of training. The key to us is that you share our values.
In addition, you need to possess good communication skills, be a team player, be reliable and committed and have a natural affinity to older people.
What will I be doing?
Providing personal care to clients which is person centred and respects individual choices
Providing additional care and support as required when a client is unwell or towards end of life
Acting as a Key-worker to a number of clients
Using personal knowledge and experience of working with those individuals to support the nurses in writing and reviewing care plans
Documenting care given, recording any changes and reporting these to the person in charge of the shift
Providing support and advice to residents' families and friends, keeping them informed at an appropriate level with due regard to the adherence of confidentiality
Working with the Activities Team to develop group and 1:1 activities that will be engaging and of interest to the residents
Liaising with other agencies as required in the interests of the resident for example; GP, Social Services, Occupational Therapist, etc.
What can we offer?
Minimum of 5.6 weeks' holiday including bank holidays
Enhanced annual leave after five years to reward long service and dedication
Extensive training and continual personal development
Paid breaks and meals provided while on duty in our care homes
Free initial DBS check

What is Brendoncare Park Road like?
In the original Brendon House, there are 15 single rooms, most with en-suite facilities or private bathroom, a dining room and sitting room overlooking the enclosed garden. A further 25 ground-floor rooms are located in the nursing households, some with en-suite facilities and many with a door leading to the garden. These rooms enjoy access to the McAndrew Room, a large communal area with views of the garden which is used as a sitting room, dining room and as a focal point for many of the social activities within the home.
Most of the bedrooms have a view of the attractive mature gardens. Residents are encouraged to bring their own furniture and cherished personal possessions and to arrange their room as they choose so that it really feels like home. The entrance hall and welcoming sitting rooms are attractively furnished and provide a comfortable atmosphere where people can spend time with each other.
