Summary of Functions

Oversee slot attendants on a specific shift including procedural and regulatory compliance, with emphasis on team member development and guest satisfaction. Ensures slots machines are monitored on a continual basis for full capacity operation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Ensure compliance with Kalispel Tribe of Indians - State of Washington Gaming Compact, Internal Controls, NIGC regulations and Northern Quest Policies and Procedures.
* Promote player's club card usage by offering new member sign ups and card reprints for existing player's club members.
* Assist with non-alcoholic beverage service as needed.
* Communicate accurate knowledge of casino promotions and property-wide events to guests and players.
* Apply positive communication and interpersonal skills with guests, (internal and external) at all times.
* Observe and maintain contact with patrons and renders assistance as necessary.
* Initiate notification, verification and assist with jackpots and hand pays accordance with current Northern Quest gaming regulations..
* Contact required personnel for malfunctions requiring technician assistance.
* Maintain excellent grooming and personal conduct according to Northern Quest Resort & Casino Standards.
* Make recommendations and suggestions to hire, transfer, suspend, promote, discharge, assign,
* Monitor and correct minor machines malfunctions, including changing paper and Bill Validator Jams as well as completion of Machine Entry Access Logs.
* Evaluate slot attendant performance, issuance of formal evaluation forms, including improvement plans and follow up sessions.
* Ensure the highest possible standards of guest satisfaction
* Maintain team member relations in a fair and equitable manner in an environment conducive to that goal.
* Take charge during assigned shift and is available to give advice and direction to the Slot Attendants.
* Department conduit for information traveling up and down the Slot department organizational structure.
* Assist Slot Operations Manager and Shift Manager in interfacing with other departments to facilitate guest service.
* Assist all Shift Managers in the daily activities of the Slot department.
* Coaches others in an effort to correct substandard performance.
* Assist in maintaining slot floor security by notifying appropriate personnel of any suspicious activity.
* Prepare floor schedules and breaks.
* Ensure control/protection of company assets.
* May be required to assist in conducting investigations into resolution of variances to ensure compliance with Northern Quest policies and Team Members integrity levels.
* Available and willing to work any changes in hours deemed necessary for business levels.
* Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular good attendance record.
* May be required to be a panelist for the Internal Review Board Hearing.
* Perform all other duties as assigned by the Slot Manager, Slot Operations Manager and Slot Shift Supervisors.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Assist the Slot Shift Manager in supervising the Slot Attendants. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include trainingteam members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


* High School diploma or GED.


* One year of slot experience or one year of supervisory experience in a customer service oriented environment


* Proficient in the use of Microsoft programs and other computer software.
* Ability to maintain positive, effective working relationships with department head and team members.
* Skill in solving practical problems and dealing with situations where only limited standardization exists.
* Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
* Skill in identifying and resolving administrative problems under pressure conditions.

Other Requirements

* Ability to obtain and maintain a Class III Gaming License.
* Food Handlers Permit
* Work nights, weekends and holidays as required.

* Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to tobacco smoke, moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The worker is frequently subject to inside environmental conditions, which provide protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes, and is occasionally subject to outside environmental conditions and to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
