USFPI Northern Territory Training Areas & Ranges Project - Traineeship Opportunities
In partnership with Sitzler Pty Ltd (Sitzler) Programmed Training Services is now offering a number of exciting opportunities for those looking to enter and/or further their career in the construction industry. These positions will offer practical, structured on the job learning and will provide you with a great opportunity to kick start your career.

Sitzler Pty Ltd has been awarded the Managing Contractor role for this the United States Force Posture Initiative (USFPI) Northern Territory Training Areas & Ranges Project (NT TAR).
The NT Training Areas and Ranges Project seeks to upgrade and expand the existing facilities at the following defence training areas, to support the United States Force Posture Initiative (USFPI) within the Northern Territory:

  • Robertson Barracks Close Training Area (RBTA),
  • Kangaroo Flats Training Area (KFTA),
  • Mt Bundey Training Area (MBTA); and
  • Bradshaw Field Training Area (BFTA)
  • About the traineeships:
    The career pathway program has been designed to help create sustainable real employment opportunities for individuals in the community. The traineeships offer an entry level pathway to a career within the construction industry, underpinned by the defence sector. Successful candidates will receive individualised learning strategies and career and employment advice through a pathway program to help you realise your full potential.
    Positions are based on a 38 hour working week, Monday - Friday. Each traineeship will be for the duration of approximately 18-24 months in the following areas.

  • Certificate III Work, Health and Safety (BSB30719)
  • There will be a combined total of 2 positions available for these areas.
    Trainees will be hosted with Sitzler Pty Ltd on either the Robertson Barracks Close or Kangaroo Flats Training Area locations Upon successful completion of the traineeship, candidates will be provided with advice and assistance to help transition into employment or higher education.
    This is a great opportunity for those who have recently finished school, individuals in the white-collar industry wanting to progress their career, or for individuals who are just looking at a career change. It will offer structured on job and off the job training and on completion you will receive a nationally recognised qualification.
    To be considered you will need to:

  • Have completed secondary schooling to at least year 11 or relevant work experience
  • Have good written and verbal communication skills
  • Have basic computer skills
  • Have a strong commitment to safety and teamwork
  • Be able to demonstrate an interest in the chosen traineeship
  • Be able to pass a pre-employment medical, drug & alcohol test and police clearance
  • Hold an NT Driver's Licence and reliable transport
  • Applicants are required to be Northern Territory residents.
