Department/Team Overview

9Now is Nines’ Broadcast Video On Demand platform where Australians can access Nine’s IP delivered Live channels and on demand content, for free.

The 9Now Programming and Operations team is at the heart of Nine’s strategy for engaging audiences and distributing widely. The team is responsible for the programming, publishing, distribution and optimization of live and on demand content on 9Now.

Your new opportunity at Nine

The Producer role - Programming and Operations works within a team of 2 other Producers tasked with the daily media asset management of content on the 9Now platform.

This is a full-time role that will be part of a rotating roster between 2 other Producers, however there will be fluctuations when we have big sporting events such as the Australian Open and would be a great opportunity for the ideal candidate that has a passion for TV - entertainment, drama and sports to start their journey in digital and broadcast television.

Career pathways for this role include but are not limited to progressing to a full-time Producer in the 9Now Programming & Operations team, Programming Assistant, Technical Producer, Production assistant. 

You will be a part of Nine’s programming department, responsible for driving Nine’s broadcast and 9Now content strategy and the opportunity to engage and learn about Television content and audiences.

Day to day you will:

  • Uploading and scheduling of VOD series, seasons, episodes & clips
  • Compiling VOD episodes for publish 
  • Ensuring metadata quality assurance across all series and episode descriptions
  • Using editorial judgement editing thumbnails and carousel slides
  • Scheduling and monitoring live stream events
  • Updating homepage rails and connected TV feeds
  • Escalate issues as they arise with the Technology, Product and the wider Programming & Operations teams.
  • Liaising with internal and external Operations teams to ensure that content is published as scheduled
  • Quality control of VOD, Live and key art assets on the 9Now platform
  • Qualifications

    The successful candidate will:

  • A highly motivated individual who thrives in a deadline driven environment
  • An understanding of video content publishing
  • An understanding of video editing and encoding
  • High attention to detail
  • Skilled in time management and priortisation
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiar with G Suite (Gmail, Sheets, MyDrive) 
  • Ability to adapt, learning new technologies and workflows and procedures
  • Can work within a 24/7 day rotating roster
  • Basic Photoshop skills
  • Basic Adobe Premiere pro editing skills
