Position Overview

  • Role Location - Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne
  • The Product Manager will be responsible for marketing activities and responsibilities to achieve optimal sales and margin return for a defined Cardinal Health Product Line portfolio.
  • ANZ Regional Cardinal Health product line portfolio strategies, new product and service introductions, growth drivers and programs will be created in alignment with both Global and APAC marketing.
  • ANZ regional Cardinal Health strategies and programs will reflect the disease state, patient condition and product and service focus of the new globally focused Cardinal Health identity and strategic intent.
  • Optimal sales and margin returns will be achieved through professional and efficient market planning, analysis business planning, strategic implementation, customer/market/third party channel optimisation, supply chain management, technical product training, product expertise, key opinion leader relationships, pricing, tender management and communication.
  • Local ANZ marketing plans and strategies will be customer focused and will be designed and implemented in conjunction with sales management at all levels and will be reflected at a smart goal/opportunity bank level in SalesForce.Com.
  • The Product Manager is required to ensure the Company’s agreed quality standards are maintained with regard to product, procedures, policies, operations & customer contact.
  •  Responsibilities:

  • Analyse, design and action ANZ marketing strategies in alignment with both Global and APAC marketing to achieve local budget sales and margin targets, with guidance from the Marketing Manager

  • Positively engage with Global and APAC Marketing and Business Development to drive new technology, product and service opportunities in ANZ market

  • Creates an annual FY Portfolio business plan with ANZ territory opportunities linked in SalesForce.Com for monitoring and execution

  • Creates FY Portfolio tactical plans to achieve objectives through the ANZ sales team and key account

  • To be the “lead person” for the defined Cardinal Health Portfolio business to both “internal” (i.e. Territory Managers, Regional Sales Managers, Operations and other support functions, Global & APAC marketing) and “external” (Clinical & Economic HCP’s, Thought Leaders & Key Opinion Leaders) customers

  • Effective and timely forecasting and supply chain/demand planning management through review of unit sales trends, account win/loss dynamics and competitor activity.

  • Ensures consistent supply and manages compliant inventory levels via ANZ and Global demand planning and operations

  • To be the “Product Champion” for the defined portfolio. To deliver the highest level of professional, quality, accurate and timely training and technical expertise to external and internal customers.

  • Ensure timely and accurate information including competitor activities and market dynamics are accessed and incorporated into marketing strategies.

  • Create and maintain a portfolio of both ANZ and global Thought Leaders/Key Opinion Leaders to gather and test marketplace information, especially around ANZ and global Patient Care policies and guidelines.

  • Undertakes field travel activities to positively contribute to account, regional and state level business outcomes.

  • Makes regular customer field visits to maintain clinical expertise and market knowledge

  • Plans, attends and participates at relevant education and trade events

  • Develops innovative promotional materials and digital engagement tools to drive sales including digital marketing and website content and activities.

  • Develop and maintain their defined product portfolio through secure supply chain, new product launches and line extensions. Explore new channels and service options as required by the business to drive new opportunities and increased sales revenue.

  • Commercial lead to deliver a positive outcome for all relevant Public Tender and Private Account creation, submission, execution, compliance and support

  • Explore, evaluate and launch new product categories to profitably expand Cardinal Health product and service offerings in conjunction with global / APAC marketing.

  • Ensure alignment of team goals to the APAC & ANZ Cardinal Health, Marketing and Global priorities.

  • Monitor and manage/influence the greater Cardinal Health team performance. Work effectively as a “Team” with the Business/ Market Development Managers and other Product Managers in close alignment with the Sales Director, Regional Sales Managers and the Corporate Account Manager.

  • Ensure effective and efficient working relationships exist between the Marketing team and Operations, Demand Planning, Supply Chain, Finance, RA/QA, Legal, IT and the other support departments within Cardinal Health.

  • Follows up with customers to resolve any adverse product or patient outcomes issues and ensure satisfaction as per our compliant RA/QA and ISO accreditation standards.

  • Collaborates with other ANZ Cardinal Health colleagues to maintain our “One Medical” market approach

  • Participates, leads and contributes to defined ANZ, APAC or Global level projects for both commercial outcomes and personal development

  • Observe health and safety policies and procedures and take all reasonable care that actions or omissions do not impact on the health & safety of others

  •  Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications at Degree level in Science, Business, Marketing or Health Care preferred

  • Post Graduate qualifications (ie MBA) are desirable

  • Product Management experience in a healthcare environment with a demonstrated track record of successful medical device product launches

  • Clinical experience in nursing, dietetics or allied health highly desirable

  • High “brand”, authority and presence to create and sustain a leadership position

  • Digital marketing fluency

  • Highly competent analytical skills

  • Strong and demonstrable business acumen

  • Experience driving results through collaboration rather than direct management relationships

  • Computer literacy and strong digital asset management skills

  • Excellent and confident communication skills
