The City of Mandurah Festivals and Events team is seeking atalented and experienced individual to fill the position of EventsOfficer. In this full-time role, you will assist in the delivery ofmajor festivals, sport and recreation events within the City ofMandurah which build the capacity of local businesses, thecommunity and increase visitation to our City Centre.

You will be responsible for: Working with the Coordinator, Festivals & Events and other City staff to plan major festivals, events and recreational activities that have local appeal and extend opportunities for social and economic development Identifying opportunities to leverage the City’s current public open space, infrastructure and community facilities to attract new events and recreational activities Liaising with external organisations to develop opportunities to host new events within the City of Mandurah. Assisting in the creation, planning, coordination and delivery of festivals and events.
What you will bring to the team
To be successful you will have: A degree / qualification relevant to the role is preferred. (However, please note that applicants without a formal qualification but with substantial experience in the event industry will be considered). Substantial experience in major event management or similar discipline. Previous experience with large scale event delivery in an outdoor public space Strong commitment to customer service and event delivery A sound understanding of project, contractor and risk management Good knowledge of major event delivery across a number of portfolios Established networks within the industry Developed interpersonal and verbal communication skills, including listening, problem solving and conflict resolution skills Demonstrated ability to manage conflicting priorities and time management skills Ability to remain calm in a stressful environment Strong report writing skills A sound knowledge of sponsorship and funding

This permanent full-time position attracts a competitive Level 5annual remuneration of $77,729 - $82,799 per annum dependent onqualifications and experience and a wide range of benefits toreward your contribution.
