However, we have a lot of work to do to get there. In Australia and New Zealand, we deliver over 1000 construction projects annually and manage over $6B of capital expenditure on behalf of our clients.

Our goal is to transform how we plan, design and construct our projects to reduce waste, improve wellness and minimize the carbon impact of the future spaces we deliver for our clients.

The Sustainability Account Manager will be part of the JLL Leadership Team and responsible for the JLL’s environmental and sustainability scope and managing the dedicated on-account JLL Sustainability Team. You will own and optimise our end-to-end delivery methodology with a significant focus on improving our sustainability best practices and enabling our people and clients on our journey to net zero carbon.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leading and managing a dedicated team to deliver the sustainability scope for our client, including, environmental reporting, utility management and energy budgets, and an environmental improvement program.
  • Developing strategies and actions plan to support the integration of sustainability across the account’s workstreams and contribute to our client's sustainability targets.
  • Developing effective relationships with client Property functional teams and other stakeholders
  • Managing specialist environmental sub-contractors.
  • Sustainability reporting including monthly and regular environmental performance reporting to key stakeholders.
  • Utility management and energy budgets including processing and validating invoices (using a third-party specialist), preparing energy budgets, and tracking solar generation.
  • Identifying opportunities for environmental improvement, preparing business cases and working with the Project and Facility Management teams to deliver client-approved projects.
  • Working with Leasing to implement a process to achieve sustainability building improvements at leased properties.
  • Reviewing and refining technical and commercial aspects of sustainability initiatives relating to energy, waste, water and environmental management. 
  • Actively engaging with Facility Managers and Minor Works Project Managers to identify and manage environmental risks, minimise consumption, and reduce costs.
  • Implement and maintain an Environmental Management System framework aligned to ISO 14001 for JLL’s services to our client property operations.
  • In collaboration with JLL’s Risk and Compliance team, ensure that JLL contractors meet compliance and procedural requirements around the environment, sustainability and risk management.
  • Your experience and qualifications:

  • 3-5 years experience with a proven track record in sustainability on commercial properties
  • Experience with facility management and minor works project management methodologies to identify and manage environmental risks, minimise consumption, and reduce costs.
  • Working knowledge of sustainable project certifications, such as Green Star, NABERS, WELL and Climate Active.
  • Knowledge, Implement and maintain an Environmental Management System framework aligned to ISO 14001.
