About the Role


Corporate Solutions considers each claim to be a business opportunity and is looking for a proactive, solution-oriented Claims Specialist for our Sydney office.

Ideally, we would like some legal experience as a backdrop to managing a diverse portfolio of general liability, professional indemnity and directors' and officers' liability claims. The successful candidate will possess professional insurance skills, will communicate effectively with our clients as well as our internal stakeholders and will be a team player.

You will manage a growing portfolio of general liability and FinPro claims from assessing indemnity, to the conclusion of the claim. This will include the engagement of lawyers and other professionals, negotiating settlement and recovery. You will work simultaneously with actuaries, internal practice leaders, underwriters and other experts in various lines of business to ensure that Corporate Solutions always delivers the best possible service to its clients.

You will be expected to have a good understanding of the ANZ market and be able to confidently interact with Clients and Brokers directly. Daily activities will include policy coverage analysis; having a strategy in place for managing claims, recommending and recording appropriate reserves and payments and most importantly, the ability to seek out solutions for each claim. You will be required to consistently share your findings, results and lessons learned within the organisation, to ensure that we continue to improve our performance.

You will be expected to play a role in working with our sales teams in the acquisition of new business. This will include the delivery of our Claims Strategy and our Claims Commitment philosophy. You will also be required to review claims portfolios and to share industry specific trends.

About the Team


The team handles Commercial Property, Engineering, Energy, General Liability and FinPro claims both domestically and internationally with a strong emphasis on quality and customer service. We are a diverse and inclusive team that works well in a collaborative environment while fostering and developing independent thought. The ANZ Claims team works as part of the wider regional and global claims teams.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree and/or a professional insurance qualification from the Chartered Insurance Institute or equivalent (ACII/ ANZIIF as a minimum);
  • Previous experience managing professional indemnity and directors' and officers' liability claims;
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills;
  • Client centric with experience building and maintaining relationships with underwriters, customers, brokers and other internal and external business partners;
  • Strong data analytical skills required to develop methodologies and provide key insights to drive business decisions; and
  • Coverage in liability, damage investigation, evaluation, negotiation and claims resolution skills preferred but not required.
