**Job Description:**

Biotech company is looking for shipping clerk that will be handling the shipping, documentation on a computer, updating inventory of various hazardous items. This is a temp to hire role which means you will receive full benefits after 3 months. You will be working on a computer doing administrative work documenting inventory and organizing shipments using Oracle software .You will check emails, review tracking sheets, look at orders and paperwork etc. The rest of the day you will be pulling items to be packed into boxes to be shipped out. You will label boxes, count inventory and document all shipments going out. You will be pulling numerous different biotech items from freezers. Office/lab setting.


The Shipping/Receiving Clerk is responsible for the physical and administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing and distributing of materials, parts, supplies and equipment. Duties also to include facilities and safety projects as needed.

+ Follow detailed departmental standard operating procedures for receiving and handling materials for Shipping and Receiving Clerk Job in Oceanside

+ Unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of received goods and rejects unsatisfactory items as necessary. for Shipping and Receiving Clerk Job in Oceanside

+ Handle and create JDE reporting of materials on-site. for Shipping and Receiving Clerk Job in Oceanside

+ Maintain materials and chemical storage (electronic, logs). for Shipping and Receiving Clerk Job in Oceanside

+ Experience in Domestic and International shipping hazardous materials, temperature sensitive and fragile materials. for Shipping and Receiving Clerk Job in Oceanside

+ Preparing shipping documentation (Commercial invoice, BOL, FDA Certification, TSCA). for Shipping and Receiving Clerk Job in Oceanside

+ Confirms the accuracy of invoices, bills and charges relative to the shipment of goods. for Shipping and Receiving Clerk Job in Oceanside

+ Logs order information into the computer and files and distributes paperwork as necessary. for Shipping and Receiving Clerk Job in Oceanside

+ Manages critical supply inventories including hazardous materials and shipping and facilities supplies. for Shipping and Receiving Clerk Job in Oceanside

+ Perform cycle counts, keep inventory list updated and track consumption of hazardous materials. for Shipping and Receiving Clerk Job in Oceanside

+ Communicates and coordinates with transportation companies.

+ Handles routine questions and problems and maintains open communication with other departments throughout the shipping/delivery cycle. for Shipping and Receiving Clerk Job in Oceanside

+ Maintain good relationships with team members and cross functional departments.for Shipping and Receiving Clerk Job in Oceanside

+ Experience in using FedEx, UPS, DHL and USPS software.for Shipping and Receiving Clerk Job in Oceanside

+ Lifts heavy items and may operate a forklift.

+ Load and unload delivery vehicles.

+ Perform physical material handling.

+ Deal with internal mail/packages/item distribution.

+ Experience in shipping/receiving (chemicals, research materials and equipment)

+ Minimum grade 12 education

+ General knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and ERM systems (JDE)

+ Ability to multi-task in a fast pace environment and satisfy customer needs

+ Ability to perform the physical aspects of the role following recommended practices, with an emphasis on safety and injury prevention

+ Ability to adapt to assist other departments including Purchasing and Accounting.

+ Basic knowledge of systems, JD Edwards or similar ERP systems

+ Ability to lift 50 lbs.

+ Open to driving Forklift

**Desired Skills and Qualifications**

+ HAZMAT, DOT, IATA training.

+ Training in GMP, ISO or similar disciplines.

+ Automated Export System (AES), Incoterms, Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) filings.

Office/Lab environment. Lifting up to 50 pounds may be required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use their hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone keypad or to write, as well as talk and hear. They are required to stand, walk or sit, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus.
