Digital Content Designer

Overview

The Hartford is looking for a Digital Content Designer to support two highly collaborative teams creating digital experiences with meaningful impact.

The Digital Content Designer is responsible for the design and delivery of compelling and effective digital assets that help drive acquisition and engagement. Our ideal candidate is a team player with a great attitude who can conceptualize and create multi-channel campaigns across The Hartford's websites and social platforms. This candidate should possess a strong understanding of responsive design and informational design, with the ability to work creatively within The Hartford's visual brand guidelines. The Digital Content Designer will work across The Hartford's Digital Content team and Social Media teams.

Responsibilities

* Develop engaging and branded digital creative that helps to solve problems, deliver results, and is aligned with The Hartford's business strategy
* Design and execute various rich media assets including but not limited to infographics, embedded page imagery, static/animated SVGs and site modules
* Develop static and animated social media creatives for both organic and paid campaigns.
* Source and edit photography for Insights articles, SEO pages, business pages, social posts and other media channels as needed
* Work closely with Strategy and UX teams to create different content components that support the goal of establishing a more relevant overall digital experience tailored to specific points along the customer journey
* Optimize digital creative according to page needs and channel best practices

Qualifications

* At least 3 years professional experience in digital graphic design at an ad agency, in-house agency, marketing department, or comparable organization
* Bachelor's degree in graphic design or other design related field is preferred
* Familiarity with The Hartford's visual brand, or experience working within corporate brand guidelines is a plus
* A strong portfolio showcasing the ability to work across digital channels and within design and platform best practices
* A deep understanding of user-centric design principles and digital specifications including file types and formats, responsive design, and accessibility standards
* Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, After Effects) and Power Point is a must
* Strong data visualization, typography, and motion graphic skills
* Knowledge of social media creative best practices for both static and video
* Strong desire to stay on top of ever-changing technologies, design trends, and best practices within the content and social media space
* Ability to build and maintain strong relationships and work well with others as part of a team. This includes:
* Demonstrating reliability, communicating constructively and being an active listener
* Treating others in a respectful, supportive, and professional manner
* Exhibiting flexibility, participating as a problem-solver
* Willingness to pitch in to help the broader team as needed

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$76,720 - $115,080
