What's the role -

The Chemical Product Supply Planner role is the perfect opportunity to demonstrate collaboration while creating true value to Shell through operational and business excellence. The Manufacturing and Chemicals business have combined as Chemicals + Products (C+P), and the Supply Planner plays a pivotal role as a linking pin connecting Supply, Optimization, Sales, Trading, Marketing, HSSE and Logistics and Manufacturing sites.

The Supply Planner is accountable for proactive planning and optimization of daily demand and supply volumes up to three months ahead, in line with the monthly optimized S&OP plan and in accordance with HSSE expectations and requirements. Also, the Supply Planner is accountable for mitigation planning and re-optimizing of the demand and supply plan during disruptions and/or site unplanned events. Through frequent connects with customer and production focal points, the incumbent is accountable for assuring the optimized operational plan gets executed by manufacturing operations and logistics service providers while collaborating to resolve any deviations. Key outputs of the operational planning process, owned by the Supply Planner, are production orders, stock transfer orders, and purchase orders.

The Supply Planner drives and optimizes all operational demand and supply planning activities by within their value chains for a horizon up to three months. In doing so, key activities include (but are not limited to):

* Developing daily operational production and demand forecasts for the next 90-days


* Interfacing with enterprise economists to ensure optimal planning


* Managing inventory and stock movements on a day-to-day basis


* Monitoring plan execution, responding to issues and threats as necessary


* Coordinating input from Customer Service Specialists, site production coordinators, and logistics planners in response to abnormal events


* Providing forecasts and performance commentary on operating costs


* Providing forecasts and performance commentary on inventory


* Recording material transfers, purchases, and receipts in GSAP



This is an exciting and dynamic time for the Shell Chemicals business in the US Gulf Coast Chemicals + Products organization, and the Chemicals Supply Team is a high performing organization. A successful candidate will be one who can manage multiple priorities, provide clarity amidst ambiguity, and, most importantly, bring out the best in those around them.

What we need from you -

* Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis.


* Bachelor's Degree in Business or Engineering and/or equivalent relevant experience.


* 3 or more years of industry experience.


* Experience in either supply chain or asset operations


* Complex problem-solving skills and root cause elimination


* Execution discipline with detail orientation


* Commercial acumen and customer centric mindset


* Solid communication and stakeholder management skill
