Position Description

The Medical Records Specialist works to facilitate patient flow through HarmonyCares Primary Care Operations to ensure an accurate and complete medical record for each patient. The staff assists the HCPC office by providing the renaming and redirection of faxes to the appropriate department to be processed in a timely manner. As a Medical Records Specialist you will:

* Interpret and rename clinical documents using standardized naming conventions
* Properly archives medical records and upload documents into the EMR system
* Triage medical records based on their clinical urgency
* Update office and provider folders as new information is obtained

Qualifications

* High School diploma
* Six (6) months experience in data entry/office support, health care preferred
* Required to obtain CPR Certification within 30 days of hire
* Computer skills: Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
* Time management skills and the ability to multi-task
* Professional demeanor, self-motivation and dependability
* Ability to communicate with all personnel levels within the organization
