About the Role
DFES is seeking to employ an energetic and progressive Fire Engineer who can demonstrate a logical approach to fire safety challenges within the built environment. The successful applicant will satisfy the essential job requirements, can think strategically, and shows good judgment, intelligence and common sense.
Core responsibility in this position will be to provide fire engineering advice to external building industry stakeholders in relation to the NCC performance requirements and their interaction with the FES Commissioner's operational requirements. It will also be vital that you apply yourself and your understanding of fire engineering to improve firefighter effectiveness and safety in structural fire operations and focus on continual improvement.
To succeed in this position, you will need to have highly developed communication skills and interact confidently with colleagues and clients to deliver advice, solutions and projects effectively. You will collaborate with the team of Fire Engineers, Building Fire Safety Officers, Direct Brigade Alarm staff and operational Firefighters.

DFES is an emergency services organisation and all employees may be required to work or travel outside of normal business hours to assist with emergencies.
Employees in this position participate in an on call roster.
