A Catered Experience, a Friendly & Reliable Event Catering Services for Hawaii is looking for Servers!
This position handles sales calls, coordination of functions, accounting/clerical/administrative responsibilities.
Using a service-oriented framework, provides catering information to all clients by phone or in person in a professional manner; to include price quotations.
Tracks incoming inquiries and sources of referrals.
Input key information into a PC client data base
Mails or faxes out menus as requested.
Makes follow up contact with interested clients to provide them with additional information and/or persuade them of the benefits of catering with A Catered Experience.
Prepares, produces, mails, or handles any other sales material as directed by the Catering Manager in support of the sales program.
May make some personal sales calls when qualified.
Books the hall for clients, provides essential information, collects the signed contracts (hall and liquor), and the deposit.
Sends out reminder letters to collect partial payments from clients for hall or large full service functions, and reviews all contractual agreements with them as needed.
Reminds and obtains head count from clients for confirmed upcoming functions.
Obtains any special information for functions held in business building, condominiums, private homes etc. to ensure that the operations staff are adequately prepared to handle the function smoothly.
Prepares Party Prospectus sheets for each confirmed function and makes changes when necessary to reflect significantly large head count changes to notify all concerned.
Collects all payments and hall deposits; issues receipts for all deposit payments; submit all monies in a timely fashion for deposit into the catering account.
Posts accurate figures onto the monthly spread sheet (or PC file_ and submits balanced totals to Controller within 4 working days of the end of the month.
Prepares accurate and complete invoices for client billing.
Informs Catering Manager of all accounts receivable at the end of every month.
Anticipates future departmental needs and identifies proactive solutions to satisfy needs.
Stays informed of new developments, opportunities, catering trends and issues. Keeps abreast of industry competition and their marketing strategies and promotions to enhance our positioning company image.
Ensures applicable safety, code, regulations and legal requirements are maintained.
Performs all other related duties.
No less than 45 hours per week. Usually Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., however, must be on-call 24/7 by mobile phone.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds

Good speech and hearing necessary for communicating with the staff, employees, managers and the public, talking on the telephone, and conducting training

Minimum College Degree with major course work in food service, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Employment or professional history indicates an alignment to corporate values and philosophies
Excellent customer service skills.
Interprets and applies complex management and customer information; knowledge of food and beverage and catering service standards; knowledge of catering software and its use; knowledge of product and service providers and experience in contract negotiation.
