The Bread Factory is the UK’s leading artisan bakery based in Hendon, North West London. We are the proud suppliers of Michelin starred restaurants, prestigious hotels and cafés with our award-winning breads, pastries and cakes. As part of this business, we operate stalls at quality food markets across the city.
We are looking for passionate Market Stall Assistant who can join our Flour Station Markets team.
Working Hours:
We operate markets from Tuesday - Sunday every week. Hours range from 7am to 19:30 within which you will be required shifts of 5-9hrs at any one market. We are on the look out for someone who will always be able to commit to a Tuesday (and the rest of the hours will be negotiable).
We have some Team Members that work 4 shifts a week and some that work just one. There’s room for all, but we do ask that all staff are prepared to work at least one shift every weekend (agreed holidays aside). You will be expected to make your way to and from each market location.
What will you be doing:
You’ll be selling our fresh bread and pastries with passion and enthusiasm to loyal regular customers and newcomers alike, all of whom are coming to our stall not only for delicious bread but for an enjoyable shopping experience. A large part of that is to be served by polite, energetic well informed staff…that’s you!! You will need to get to each market on time to meet our driver, who’ll arrive with the bread and your stall equipment. From then you’ll set up the stall and lay out the bread in a presentable way. Once the customers start rolling in, you’ll be chatting serving, smiling, selling until the end of the market when it’s time to clear up, count up the cash and go home.
We are looking for candidates who:
Ideally you’ll have experience of selling and serving customers. This may not necessarily be on a market stall, but in a shop, pub, café, restaurant, is all valuable experience. You will to be quick and organised - the markets can be fast paced and we don’t want to keep the customers waiting. You’ll need to be well up on your times-tables - there are no tills to help you out with the sums. Above all, you’ll definitely need a lot of energy and enthusiasm. The markets are a great place to work if you join in. You may be on your own behind our stall, but you’ll be surrounded by other stalls and everyone pulls together. We’re also hoping you’ll be as passionate about good food as we are. It goes without saying that you’ll need to have good communication skills, be well organised and able to work well with the rest of our team.
