RATE OF PAY PER HOUR: Starting pay $20/hr (no experience) and up to $25/hr with verified related experience.
Your chef skills will be a great asset to this fast paced, diverse list of clients that Caterstaff has worked with for over 20 years. We work with the top caterers, clubs, corporate dining, higher education and private clients throughout New England. Shifts available every day of the week mornings, afternoons and evenings. There is a 5 hour minimum per shift.

Culinary Job Overview
Preparing quality food and presenting it in an attractive manner are the main goals of a catering chef. Chef is required to follow safe food storage and handling guidelines. Recipes the chef follows or creates must be standardized and accurate to guarantee conformity for each client. The chef is expected to be resourceful and creative to effectively handle problems related to food shortages, food preparation mistakes and extra guests.
Venues for catering chefs vary. Some work for corporations or caterers and use the same kitchen for every event. Others travel to homes, public meeting halls or reception locations and have to use the kitchen equipment and tools available to them. A catering chef has to have stamina and be in good physical shape as they may spend many hours on their feet. The job may require heavy lifting, bending and stretching, so you must be strong and flexible. Shifts can be long and sometimes include evenings, weekends and holidays. A catering chef is expected to wear attire appropriate for a chef, including a hat and disposable gloves.
