Network Field Technician Great opportunity to join an amazing team! Position Summary: Are you ready to embark on a new adventure? Alamon has an exciting opportunity for a Network Field Technician to join our team! As a Network Field Technician, you will install, service, and maintain our client's low voltage category cabling, fiber optic cabling, communications cabling, and network infrastructure equipment. Job Responsibilities:
  • Installation/maintenance of Network Infrastructure Equipment such as:
  • Servers (Virtual & Physical)
  • Storage & Backup Devices
  • Server Appliances
  • Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (E.g., Nutanix, Cisco UCS)
  • Power Distribution Units rated 3KVA and higher
  • Network Switches
  • Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS)
  • WAN Optimization Devices
  • Firewalls
  • Wireless Access Points
  • Routers
  • Cables that connect the device to itself, a peripheral, or a power/network port
  • Power Cycling network equipment
  • Running Diagnostics Commands
  • Conducting whole unit replacement
  • Inserting/Removing Media
  • Replacing Defective Components
  • Assist with fault diagnosis and investigation
  • Configuring Remote Access
  • Basic Storage Array Configuration
  • Replacing faulty cables
  • Installation/termination/testing of a variety of low-voltage cablings such as Cat5e, Cat6, Ca6A, fiber, and coax.
  • Perform other related job duties as assigned.
Operational Tasks:
  • Updating and recording of activities in relevant IT Ticket Management System
  • Coordinating and agreeing on attendance time and date with the Operations team
  • Provide support either through phone, remote tools, or in person at onsite
  • Perform installation as needed either through physical or network medium
  • Coordinate actual activity dates and timings including arrival and departure times.
  • Carry all necessary tools, laptops, etc. that might be needed to support issues in the infrastructure environment
  • Labelling, Patching, and Asset Tagging activities
  • Following specific task instructions and providing necessary reporting as necessary.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
  • CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CCNA certifications or equivalent knowledge and 3-5 years of work experience
  • Effective communication and people skills capable of supporting strong relationships
  • Exceptional customer-facing skills
  • Documentation management and ability to use various document tools such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher), SharePoint, Smartsheet
  • Time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to make project critical decisions when necessary
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Contain a logical and analytical approach to work
  • Take pride in your work
Work Environment:
  • This position requires visiting Alamon customer site facilities nationwide. Must be able to work in enterprise, educational, warehouse, and manufacturing settings.
  • Indoor and outdoor work will be based off the scope of the contract.
  • Exposure to dust, odors, gasses, vapors, varying noise levels, and wet or slick surfaces may be possible. Where appropriate, wears personal protective equipment (PPE) in compliance with Company standards and governmental regulations.
  • This position may require working outdoors in all kinds of weather conditions and terrain; may work for long periods in hot, cold, wet, windy, or icy conditions.
  • Travel throughout the United States for 2-3 weeks at a time is required.
Physical Requirements:
  • This position requires being able to work standing up for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work on ladders and scissor lifts at heights up to 35'
  • Proficient using industry-standard tools as well as power tools and able to lift a minimum of 50lbs.
  • Ability to clearly distinguish colors when working with multi-colored cablings such as twisted pair copper and fiber optic cable
