Compensation Analyst or Lead or Business Partner Position Summary: The Compensation Analyst will develop compensation structure, process and reporting; lead compensation surveys and benchmarking; and ensure that Meketa is performing well in all areas of total compensation. This position is part of the HR team and will be knowledgeable in the areas of benefits, recruiting, employment, and performance management. This position reports to the Human Resources Director. Essential Responsibilities:
  • Prepares and maintains job descriptions for each position in the organization; ensures descriptions accurately reflect the work being performed by incumbents
  • Assesses jobs and their respective duties to determine classification as exempt or nonexempt and appropriate salary range
  • Evaluates annual compensation cycles including merit, promotions, and bonuses
  • Benchmarks jobs against survey data and other market intelligence to establish competitive compensation ranges
  • Prepares and presents summary reports of job analysis and compensation analysis information
  • Gathers data from market-based compensation surveys; uses spreadsheet and data analysis techniques to assess results and market trends
  • Conducts annual benchmarking process of job market and accurate alignment to maintain benchmark data integrity
  • Develop & deliver training on compensation philosophy, best practices, and annual processes
  • Work with managers to expand their compensation knowledge
  • Partners with Human Resources Team to provide compensation support throughout the hiring process and employment cycle
  • Maintains compensation policies and procedures, ensuring accuracy and consistency across the organization
  • Complies with audit and regulatory standards
  • Partner with a compensation consultant to develop, implement, and assess a compensation strategy
  • Special projects as needed (pay equity analysis, establish salary bands, develop variable pay)
  • Partners with Human Resources Team in all areas of Human Resources
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or comparable combination of education and experience in Human Resources or related field
  • 2-4+ years experience as a compensation analyst
  • PHR® or SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred
  • Compensation certification preferred
  • Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods
  • Solid understanding of human resource laws, regulations, and standard methodologies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Excellent interpersonal and time management
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Self-motivated with the ability to operate independently, work proactively, and achieve results without close supervision
  • Ability to work with critical information in a confidential manner
  • Problem solver who has analytical ability and good judgment
  • Well-organized focused and self-directed individual
  • Investment or Financial Services industry experience preferred
