We are seeking a talented and highly collaborative Underwriting Quality Consultant to provide advanced operational and consultative support on UW quality, UW authority, and continuous improvement efforts across our GRS North America segments. The UW Quality Consultant will perform research, analyze information, prepare reports, present findings, and recommend changes and/or take actions based on various factors (e.g., data insights, feedback from quality assurance reviews, process, guidelines, market information, etc.) to solve problems and improve business outcomes. You will also leverage your technical underwriting skill set to engage in a range of UW related initiatives involving training, knowledge management, and other cross-line UW areas. This role will have the opportunity to shape our quality journey and contribute to the profitable growth efforts of GRS North America. You will report within the GRS NA Product organization and be part of the Industry Solutions team.

Responsibilities:

Actively partner with peer stakeholders focused on quality, continuous improvement, training, and elite underwriting efforts in GRS NA and GRS UW Strategy & Performance to align and prioritize efforts, share best practices, and collaboratively drive results.
Utilize complex data to analyze performance of UW segments and evaluate trends and effectiveness of current UW decision making, risk quality, and related processes and procedures.
Provide central oversight and ownership for UW authority and governance efforts, including supporting ongoing attestation activities and collaborating with Global Internal Auditing on UW and UW support focused reviews.
Engage with internal IT and Finance partners and direct external vendors (where applicable) in the administration of quality assurance programs.
Engage with various GRS NA Product & UW teams to influence process changes and coordinates with GRS NA Operations process owners to execute and release improvements.
Conducts high complexity analysis under minimal direction.
Serves as point person for high complexity country wide implementations. Leads own work stream on all projects and manages low to moderate complexity projects.
Provides thoughtful recommendations that influence countrywide and cross-segment decisions and initiatives.
Analyzes trends and is responsible for tactical and strategic recommendations.

Our preference is for the role to be located near one of our GRS North America UW centers, but remote candidates will also be given consideration based on experience:

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of commercial property casualty insurance, insurance regulatory environment and processes.
Highly skilled in the areas of decision making/critical thinking, effective communications, flexibility/adaptability, conflict management, and attention to detail.
Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Knowledge, skills and behaviors typically acquired through a bachelor`s degree in business, economics, or other quantitative field plus at least 6 years or more years of relevant work experience. Experience managing projects preferred.

Bachelor's degree in business, information management, economics, or other quantitative field. Master's degree preferred.
Minimum 4 years, typically 6 years or more of relevant work experience.
Knowledgeable in data query languages and tools; proficient in new and emerging technologies; may possess data modeling skills.
Highly developed communication and presentation skills.
In-depth knowledge of data concepts, strategies, and methodologies.
In-depth knowledge of data architectures, solutions and designs; extensive knowledge of business operations, strategies and objectives.
Highly developed negotiation, facilitation and consensus building skills.
