Position Overview
Reporting to the Director, IT Operations, the IT Project Manager is responsible for providing project management services within the IT team. The position offers the opportunity to work across teams delivering on significant improvements to the Entity’s technical landscape.
You will work closely with the Infrastructure, Cyber, Business Applications teams to prioritise the work requested, scope projects, identify required budget and resources, and develop a dashboard of priority projects. Day to day management of project delivery will include ensuring tasks are delivered on time and tracked, identifying and mitigating risks to delivery and communicating project status to stakeholders.
The position will require a customer focus, excellent communication abilities and interpersonal skills, supported by a demonstrated working knowledge of Project Management. Detail orientation is important to ensure that critical tasks are managed, and risks addressed. This role will see you working closely with the IT management team, along with Cyber to deliver on important projects.

The successful candidate will carry out a range of project-related tasks to ensure that the team is operating efficiently and effectively.
Working across IT teams (Infrastructure, Applications, Data, Change, Cyber security) undertake project management activities, ensuring that team activity is progressed in line with agreed expectations.
Actively collaborate with colleagues to ensure that blockers to project progress are understood, managed and mitigated.
Identify and report on project risks, liaising with stakeholders to ensure these risks are identified, recorded, and managed. Conduct risk assessment and risk management activities for area of responsibility.
Develop targeted, concise project materials to ensure that project progress and benchmarks are reliable, visible and understood. Report on project progress and status.
Using a range of channels, communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders to ensure that objectives and approaches are clear and well understood.
Selection Criteria
Demonstrated ability to manage project delivery in a complex environment, ensuring that activity aligns with agreed frameworks, including the software development life cycle, and Agile. Project Management certifications are desirable, or relevant equivalent experience.
Broad understanding and exposure/experience across a range of IT functions such as infrastructure, applications, data, cybersecurity and change. Specific experience with infrastructure would be beneficial.
Highly developed problem solving skills. Understand and manage conflicting priorities, constraints and demands, and realise project objectives across a diverse range of stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to work both under broad direction and independently to achieve program goals and quality outcomes of product delivery.
Highly developed written and verbal communication skills. The IT Division is geographically dispersed and experience in working in such teams is essential.
