Inpatient services provided at Moorabbin Hospital/Monash Cancer Centre include medical oncology, general medicine and a range of elective surgical services.
The Moorabbin Surgical Ward is a 36 bed, inpatient ward that includes a four bed Post Anaesthetic High Dependency Unit. The Surgical Ward provides exemplary care for patients undergoing a range of surgery including gynaecology, gynae-oncology, breast services, orthopaedics, urology, head & neck and ENT.
A Day in the Life:
We are seeking a proven nurse leader to assume operational responsibility for the established Surgical Ward at Moorabbin Hospital. This is an ongoing role, working full time hours, Monday – Friday.
Reporting to the Director of Clinical Operations, this is a key leadership role responsible for clinical and operational outcomes and for leading and managing a team of around 50 people, including clinical and clerical team members.

Your experience in management and clinical leadership, ideally in a similar role, will see you excel in this role. You are able to effectively prioritise tasks, resulting in you having exceptional time management skills and your superior communication skills allow you to influence where you need to get things done. You are someone who is proficient in a range of technology solutions and your critical thinking and analytical skills allow for efficient problem solving. Importantly, you are committed to proactively supporting your colleagues and acting as a mentor for all those in our Ward.

What you need:
Management and clinical leadership experience, ideally in a similar role
Demonstrated acute nursing experience, ideally in adult surgery
Current AHPRA registration

Play an integral clinical leadership role as a member of a highly skilled Nursing and Executive team
