About The Role
We are currently looking for Maintenance Associates to join our team in Port Hedland. This is a residential role offering an 8/8 roster; 4 days, 4 Nights, 8 days off.
Reporting to the Supervisor Locomotive Overhaul Shop, you will be responsible for assisting a team of BHP employees and contractors, working towards improving and maintaining the reliability and availability of the locomotive fleet.
Maintaining standardised work processes and driving standardised work improvements in locomotive maintenance
Contributing to continuous improvement in locomotive maintenance
Contribute to high fleet availability through routine maintenance, focused on quality work and a defect elimination mindset
Assist Locomotive Maintainers with routine preventative maintenance
An overriding commitment to Health, Safety and Environment within Rail
Adherence to Work Management principles and discipline
Strong commitment to the field leadership
As the successful applicant, you will ideally possess the following:
Experience in mining, heavy industry or locomotive industry is desirable but not essential
Willing to upskill into an apprenticeship in the future
Hold a valid and unrestricted Australia ‘C' Class Licence
Ability to work autonomously to meet deadlines
Experience in Microsoft Office Applications is desirable
Experience in 1SAP Work Management is desirable but not essential
Experience in managing risk e.g. JHA's, Take 5‘s
An energetic and enthusiastic approach to work, with a drive to develop and learn
Ability to problem solve and react to unplanned situations in a controlled manner
Strong safety skills and history of field leadership participation
A teamwork mentality to achieve results
Strong verbal and written communication skills
