About your role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Underwriter to join the Specialty Underwriting Team. This role is a Permanent opportunity based in our Melbourne or Sydney Office. As an Assistant Underwriter you will be the first point of contact for delivering exceptional customer service & resolving Broker/Partner enquiries.  

This is an exciting opportunity get in at the ground level and start your underwriting career as part of the Construction team. Full training and support will be provided, which will set you up for success in your new career.

How will I help?  

A day in the role may look a bit like this:
Be the first point of contact for customer queries and escalations  
Support our Underwriting Team with New Business and existing policy updates as well as renewals 
Work within service standards and delegated authorities 
Build and maintain good working relationships with our customers, intermediaries, and internal stakeholders 
Deliver timely decisions and problem-solving solutions for customers and intermediaries 
What do I need?  

To be successful as an Assistant Underwriter you will ideally have:
2 + years experience in a similar Customer Service focused role  
General Insurance experience preferred, but not essential 
Excellent Customer service skills 
Call Centre background  
Positive attitude and willing to learn
