JOB TITLE: Application Support Analyst

LOCATION:Swindon (office based)

PACKAGE: upto £28k

WAY OF WORKING:100% office based

THE BUSINESS:

My client is an award-winning family run business. The company has grown from strength to strength over its long history and branched out into many different disciplines.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

The role is to provide software support to the my clients activities. Acting as a system administrator, working closely with the business 'super users’, IT department and Business Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • To be the first line response for software queries and issues for software users.
  • To provide advice and guidance to software users on the best resolution to queries and issues in line with existing business process and work instructions.
  • To raise queries and issues with software provider’s helpdesks to resolve queries.
  • Ensure solutions are 'fit for purpose’ and facilitate the delivery of the customer needs.
  • Escalate business critical system issues to Senior Managers in a timely and efficient manner.
  • To assess the need for system modifications, upgrades, new functionality to support the business activities.
  • To take requests for data and reports and prepare a scope requirement.
  • Liaise with the Data Analyst and software providers to produce data sets and reports.
  • Organise annual data cleanse requirements.
  • Coordinate software upgrades with super users and software providers.
  • Conduct thorough testing routines on new functionality and system upgrades and review with superusers and present to manager for agreed roll out.
  • Arrange software training sessions for new starters.
  • Add and amend customer automated report requirements.
  • Assist with software dictionary maintenance.
  • Assist with project work on behalf of the Business Project Manager
  • Raise orders and make purchases on behalf of the business.

  • To undertake other duties which may be reasonably assigned from time to time.
  • Foster group ethos and collaborative working between group divisions.
  • To recommend ways in which efficiency may be improved.
  • To build and maintain good relationships with customers and colleagues and uphold and promote the Company’s image in all dealings and transactions.
  • To read, observe and comply with company policies and procedures.
  • To be polite, courteous, and helpful in all dealings with customers and the public at large.
  • To move to other locations on a temporary or permanent basis as requested.
