People Operations Lead, logistics technology company, perm, to £45-£50k.

Our client is a rapidly scaling technology company, who are looking for a People Operations Lead to start ASAP to support the talent acquisition function during the speedy growth of the company. This is a brand-new position, so the right candidate will need to be super organised and a process expert with reporting and systems knowledge across the end-to-end employee lifecycle.

Main duties of the People Operations Lead role are:

  • Establish and maintain all recruitment processes and systems
  • Effectively monitor, manage & ensure compliance e.g., employment, policies, right to work, visas etc.
  • Lead on the onboarding (and offboarding) process
  • Ongoing admin of the full end-to-end employee lifecycle
  • Create and coordinate policies and procedures and update employee handbook
  • Provide relocation support, organising visas for new employees and their dependents
  • Maintaining the HR database, owning and optimising the platform to drive efficiencies
  • Support monthly payroll ensuring employees are paid and that any leavers, new joiners and promotions are captured and processed accurately and on time
  • Manage all post-offer administration including background screening, employment contracts, visa sponsorship, etc
  • Build and manage people reporting and create relevant, accurate and automated reports that support sounds decision making
  • Build a network of key stakeholders internally
  • Project work, support the wider team on tasks
  • Other ad hoc duties when required

Skills and experience

  • Able to think strategically on a macro level, while also being hands on & systems driven
  • Solid experience in a people operations role preferably in a scale up environment
  • Proven track record creating processes that solve business challenges/issues
  • Solid experience of creating process flows and documenting processes and policies
  • A strong understanding of people compliance and governance and the ability to assess and mitigate risk
  • Strong knowledge of Employment Law and delivering 1st line support on a range of employee relations issues
  • Good understanding of HR platforms and tools & how to optimise them
  • Proven track record delivering quantifiable results in line with business objectives

The successful candidate will have previous experience or a strong interest in HR, ideally with a degree in HR (undergraduate or master’s level). You will be familiar with HR policies and procedures and be able to always uphold confidentiality. You must have excellent communication skills, be a team player and possess meticulous attention to detail.
