Customer Service Specialist

Charterhouse are working with an exciting and unique business in Chester, who are looking for a Customer Service Specialist to join the company and support the team to create and grow a sustainable, innovative business which puts its customers first. The Customer Service Specialist will be supporting the sales team to deliver on the business plan by taking proposals, undertaking relevant checks, investigating queries and progressing deals to pay out. The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service skills, the ability to communicate clearly and effectively both written and verbally.


  • Starting at £23,000, moving to £25,000 after a successful probation period
  • 9am-5.30pm Monday to Friday

  • Ensuring all data relating to new proposals is accurately transferred to the company CRM system
  • Carrying out Business credit and verification checks
  • Carrying out personal identity checks, as well as fraud and PEP checks where necessary
  • Preparing legal documents, including financial agreements and security documents
  • Staying alert to any potentially fraudulent activity or vulnerable customers, ensuring you follow correct reporting procedures
  • Managing your cases from inception to pay out
  • Handling queries in a timely manner and ensuring updates are given and resolutions are provided in a professional manner
  • Understanding backgrounds to queries, and carrying out appropriate research to ensure you can provide an effective response
  • Building relationships with the customer network with the aim to become a trusted point of contact


  • Previous customer service experience
  • Good written and spoken communication skills
  • High levels of organisation
  • Reliability and honesty


  • Knowledge of and experience of a financial services environment
  • Knowledge of regulatory policies within financial services
  • Knowledge of onboarding procedures, including due diligence and KYC
